They are going to release the toolset before the game, wisely enough. There's a timer on the official site for its download (if one has the preorder code), and it should be torrentable shortly after anyway.

But...

Both are on the official site, and both have a different timer.

This is how the big businesses work!

And!

You can only get hold of the 'presell' toolset packs in limited countries.

The biscuit is well and truly taken!

I do hope it's torrented quickly.

...Presuming the toolset doesn't have its own online verification system. It would be rather odd of them not to protect the toolset somehow. However I presume this has been rather last minute scheme by Atari, so anything is possible. It also explains why it is only available in limited places (but it is available in Europe, if you can order online).

Everyone of course will make their own choises, but please do not post any illegal downloads here if such appear. RPer.org being made of the people who enjoy good games, it would be wrong to support illegal downloads in any form.

On the matter of timer, WarCry seems to clear it up:

I am pretty sure that text wasn't there a day before :)

14 hours to go. Then we get to see if the characters are as EQ2 as they seem.

Edit: Wait, people still see different timer times...is it tied to your own computer's clock? This is just weird playing around.

Everything I've seen suggests it's based on your computer time rather than server time.

Well, that's just weird programming. I mean, surely they know at what CET they're going to release it...

Oh well. Sometime tomorrow, then.

Or not:
Neverwinter Nights 2 Pre-Sell Toolset Delayed (http://nwvault.ign.com/fullstory.php?id=21364)

--------------------
Id rather have a toolset that crashes every 2 minutes than no toolset at all. This is seriously becoming an HL2 deal, and thats not very nice - not very nice at all.
--------------------
You may think that right now, but you really wouldn't. Can you imagine the constant repetition of loggin in, opening things up, just getting started and then crashing only to have to redo it all again?

Since it has been deayed, there must be a valid reason for doing so. From my knowlege of the industry, they likely found a very important bug at the last minute and made the very hard decision to have to delay the release.

Keep this in mind THEY DIDN'T WANT A DELAY. Now their hardcore community, the people whoi care most about the game to the point that they'd preorder are extreemly angry or disappointed with them. They didn't want to do this, they likely felt that they had to.

Does this suck? Yep. There's lots of us here at BioWare who are among you disappointed pre-oreder fans and we feel the pain too. But this was done for a reason. If it means that I get a stable product when I do finally get my hands on it, even though I'm disappointed now, I can live with it."

Judging from the post speaking of logging in it will be password protected (probably online system?). Lets hope the toolset comes before the game does :)

It got delayed AGAIN? Gah.

But they're using the same toolset to create the single-player. So it must be in functioning format. So why it gets delayed must be because they're crippling the pre-release version (so people cannot test-play stuff with it alone, and it doesn't possibly have access to all the resources), and that's causing all sorts of problems. Or they're diverting effort to putting in some sort of an online protection indeed...

Regardless, nice for PR, Atari/Obsidian. It would be one thing if it were to have been free, but many people paid for their prerelease priviledge. Or, to put it another way... http://www.wyrdwood.org/toolset_counter/

Good old Benny (even if he did not come up with the song originally).
