One of the valid comments that has come up a few times since the creation of the guild asks what is it all about.

Dance Macabre as a name does not have the same instant recognition in terms of a setting for a guild and common goal as does say Theramore Guard.

We seem to be creating the fiction as we go along which is the best way imho, but nonetheless a few points seem to have been taken up by a number of the guild and maybe we should document/agree on.

The following is my take on things and I'm not saying this is how it has to be or should be, just how I'm seeing the IC fiction currently, using conversations in game and my own imagination.

Dance Macabre is a unit of Sylvanas's armies, whose goal is two fold:

Prepare the living for their death and ressurection into undeath. Once good people, re-awoken by Sylvanas now seek redemption and through the corruption of undeath see one way of doing this is to prepare the living for it. Forsaken is what we are, forsaken is what all will be.

Deceive the enemies of the Forsaken, become an excellent fighting force whilst maintaining the air of a rambling group of mindless undead.
The Enemies of the forsaken are many, and deception is part of the art of war. Make our enemies believe we are weak and then send them to the abyss.

As I said, this is my take on things currently, but I'm happy to be educated by others etc. Please be constructive though.

well how is it about our "alliance" with the horde?

well how is it about our "alliance" with the horde?

My suggestions on this:

The "alliance" with the Horde races we have is an unwelcome neccessity. Whilst the other Horde races can atleast be partially accepted by the Alliance, they still see us as their corruption and as the enemy of the last war even though we now have control over our own future. They are our enemy whether we like it or not.

If we did not allign ourselves with the Horde races then we would most likely be the subject of their attacks aswell and this way it makes it harder for the Alliance to get to us without starting a fullblown Alliance/Horde war.

Some may see this as us being weak but infact it is simply us doing what we have to.

Comments?

Well i think in background style we are not weak but we have planes, the orcs, trolls or Tauren is like a bit of a how you say a little "extra" that the forsaken can have use of.

A bold attemt to make this thread a major concern among all members. i would say this thread is the most important one and shows the ways in which we are evolving. Right now many of us is leveling like crazy, me included, and that is fine. Many are also leveling in the PVP ranks, me included, an that is also fine. The question is; why?
I think the forsaken are on the brim of being subdued and put under the power of the Burning Legion once again, therefor I am building my strength to withstand the influence and by force if necessary. I have no real quarrel with the Alliance and I only use the rest of the Horde to bolster the impact the Legion might have once again. I am tiptoeing around, dodging blows and stabbing at my enemies where I can, may they be misled Alliance warriors or more openly for the Legion. This is the dance, the dance is mine, I dance til my death.

In my opinion we are no stringent army, we are more of a paramilitary guerilla, defending ourselves and doing it together while we are stronger that way. We may not march around sounding our songs, but we have a code.
That code should be discusssed here and can create many RP guidelines. Something we can pin our characters to, to help us interactmore with others in some kind of united fashion.

My suggestions are as follows, these could be revised anytime :)

1 The art of war. (PVP)
Never kill a weaker (gray) foe, unless attacked or the territory is owned by the horde.
(Attack and scare off is ok)
Never corpse camp.
Never corpse camp.
Donīt attack foes engaged in PVE, wait until finished.

2 The art of Horde
Decide how your character feels about the other races and stay in that state even when grouping with them.
Help other horde as much as you can, they are your shield verses greater threats.

3 The art of Alliance
Be careful, very careful. They are not kill on sight, but they might consider you being one of the legions minions. Always ready to defend yourself.

4 The Guild
The guild are your family and your safety. The council should be obeyed, but suicide is never asked for.

Well this is my view and it is up for revision.
