Basis:

We do want to recruit good people that behave properly and are interesting to do similar things that we do. Unless you know a person very well it is hard to determine this. Therefore I propose that we have a system reflected in the in game rank system, which try out recruits a bit before gaining full guards membership.

Donal, will hold weekly guild trainings, starting next wednesday. And these can be a way of getting a feel of the recruits.

Recruitment Chapter

Any alliance member preferrably a soldier of 10 season and more can apply for the Theramore Guards. Before being accepted as a recruit the recruit must have read the rules of the guild as posted by Sgt Vimes, and he must have been personally interviewed by on of the recruiters.

The actual recruitmentment will take place after the recruit have attended to one training. The rank of the new recruit will be ... Recruit.

After the recruit have been a recruit for at least a week, have at least 20 seasons, and have attended at least 2 more guild events such as hunting in a guild group, training or R&R night. The raising of a recruits to guards should be done in a short ceremony held once a week.

The ceremony is to point out the difference in being a guard and a recruit. For instance only guards are entitled to wear the guild tabard. A difference is also in clothing. Recruits wear black or Grey linen shirts under their armor. Guards wear the white.

Great! i would love to attend this Donal.

As i said in the "a trip to Theramore" thread, as an compliment to your ideas we also could have an "initiation" event, the trip to Theramore, where you pay your respects to Captain Garran Vimes, and there after you get promoted from Recruit to the next rank.

This also would provide for great roleplay opportunities. These events would be quite fun. I wouldnt mind paying for the Tabard to hand it out to the one that gets his promotion :-)

Sir it would be a great event marching, from Ironforge to Thelsamar, and further on to Menethil in force.

2 lines with 5-8 in each side by side singing!

Lining up in each town, gathering the local recruits, and moving on, reporting in to Captain Vimes at the end. Yes! It all fits!

The discussion is spreading over a few threads, might become difficult to follow.

I am a big fan of ceremony. Firstly it's the way the military does things. It's a perfect way to make one feel special if you are the receiver of an award. But mostly it's fun events filled with rp.
Hence, the more ceremony the more fun we will have.

I support most of the ideas that has been discussed here and will most definately attend as many training sessions as I can. The details of everything can of course be discussed further. Such as rank titles, recruiting, and uniforms etc.

The main thing as far as I'm concerned is that we create events together. And learn to have fun with each other.

As I hinted in another thread I will take it upon myself to try and create some songs and similar to be used for marching and such. Or they will probably most likely be more yells than songs (sadly WoW does not provide any means of singing that I have found thus far) but as long as something comes out of the mouth of the grunts I think it will be a success.
