History
-------
The Meridian Guard was originally created by the Explorers League, to protect the explorers as they went around the world. As the times went by and the guard expanded, it became more a body of its own.
Nowadays it consists of freeswords, and freemages, dedicated to the struggle against evil and the enlightenment of the people. It have no set structure apart from its Ironforge enclave, with the Headmaster, always a dwarf, and some experienced officers.
Rumors have surfaced lately that the guards have been used to gather information and to combat underground organizations, suggesting a development of a more political side of the guard.
