View Full Version : Starting the clan

Well, the little hunting trip today was alot of fun! If we continue to work together that well, we'll have alot of fun!

Now, there are a few things to be said about our goals. First of all, establishing the guild. For that reason we need to have at least ten supporters and that means that we should start recruiting.

Help out fellow orcs, especially those with "proper" names. Try to get to know them, hunt with them and direct them to this board if they are interested in joining!

Also, we should consider getting a tiny litte website with a few infos about our clan. If anyone knows how to get a memorizable URL, lemme know! ;)

Any more ideas and suggestions so far?

Maybe we should buy a guild charter and start collecting signatures right away. What do you think?

Give me a time and a place and I'll sign in with my proto Orc to join the guild.

Mission successful! The guild has been established and we're also found some very fine new clan mates!

There is still alot of work to do though...

Hoowah Severed Heads!!

Hey guys.

Martinus pointed me to this forum. I'm playing on the European servers, currently have a dwarf pally but am interested in making an orc as well. I love roleplaying (14 years experience) and can join your clan if you accept me. As for my potential orc's class, do you guys need any particular one? I'm open to suggestions. :)

As long as it is an orc character with proper name and as long as you are interested in roleplaying, you're welcome!

Right now, I think we have a good mix of all classes...

WaThumb
14th February 2005, 10:28
Yub, we have a good mix of all classes and professions, so you can create an Orc after your own taste.

Not sure if we should have to many Warlocks..Mauuk is allready one and we watch him for any signs of insanity. ;)

Branko
14th February 2005, 10:34
From what I could make out last night we have a whole bunch of warriors and shamen but are low on hunters, warlocks and rogues so any one of those three choises would help the balance.

WaThumb
14th February 2005, 10:45
Hmm, I dont think we have to much/less of one of the classes. We are 10 people and the classes are good distributed.

Lazhag - Warrior
Bragurz - Rogue
Uzglug - Shaman
Mauuk - Warlock
Tragash - Hunter
Throksharr - Shaman ?
Shaka - Hunter/Rogue ?
..

These are the toplevel members I remember right now.

Edit: Checked the memberlist, we have enough Shamans I think. So I would encourage a fighter class to strenghten our frontline.

Good idea, especially with Marty playing him. :P

I usually play on evenings in Eastern European Time, since I work I don't have time to play a lot, but should be enough. Where can I find you guys?

WaThumb
14th February 2005, 11:09
Our toplevels 13-15 are currently around Crossroads (Bagurz, Lazhag, Mauuk, Uzgluk....) in the Barrens. The midlevels around Razor Hill (Tragash, Shaka) and some fresh born Orcs (2nd Chars from friends) in the Startzone.
Just Message one of them and we can guildchat to find one near your position.

Also Shazrim (UTM char) is a huntress (she is going to join tonight I think)

I'm not a member of the clan yet. But I was thinking of joining it and i'm a shaman. If you want to, I could start over with a warrior instead of my shaman. Warriors should be a majority in an orcclan I think. I've only played for a day so starting over will not be that painful.

What's your thoughts about this? and what professions do we need and will be most appropriate for an orc warrior.

Martinus
14th February 2005, 13:33
Both are cool. :)

So far we have a rather even spread of all professions, except for maybe Tailoring and Enchanting (I don't think anyone has them). If people are willing to give me green items, I may reconsider my choice of Herbalism and Alchemy, and go Tailoring/Echanting route (since a warlock is most likely to be an Enchanter I guess), though. :)

WaThumb

Isnt Uzglug a Tailor? I have a nice Leather cape from him around my shoulders. Maybe he can create the same one for every member till we have a tabbard.

What green things you need for it? Some of my Blacksmithing requires Malachite or Tigereye and I started to collecting them. But I can live without them if needed.

Uzglug is a leatherworker.

As for what green things an enchanter needs, it's purely armor and weapons. Save those Malachites and Tigereyes though, one day someone of us might be screaming in need for one of those things.

As far as I've noticed we don't have a single Tailor, Enchanter or Engineer yet. We do have a lot of alchemists though.

Ok, so I am switching to Enchanting and either Tailoring or Engineering. Bring me your goodies. :+

Krag
14th February 2005, 16:04
Tailoring Enchanting will work better than enchanting/engineering. You can make green clothes which you can disenchant to get skill gains and resources for enchanting.

Engineering really needs to be paired with mining unless you want to spend a lot of money buying resources, and enchating is expensive enough to start with that that would be impracticle imho.

But them I'm smellie human on the RP server so what would I know ;)

After a couple of days wandering the deserts of Durotar, Shazgrim is back in civilisation.

She'll be offering to patch up clan-member's armour should they need it...

Branko
14th February 2005, 16:35
Uzglug is a leatherworker and yes he could make those cloaks for everyone in the clan... he just have to kill about 200 animals first.

I've actually been trying to equip all the other leather wearers in the clan with good pieces of armor. Only problem is that everything requires soooo much leather to make and there's so much to do besides skinning dead beasts.

Martinus
14th February 2005, 23:09
I am a Tailor and an Enchanter and already with tailoring in its 60-ties.

Any clan member in good standing (read: gives me lots of linen) will get a 6-slot bag made for a cheap price of 40 copper coins (cost of buying a thread which is not craftable).

UntrainedMonkey
14th February 2005, 23:24
That's why it's nice tidying up after other people's kills...

Shazza has got something like 40 leather banked away in Orgrimmar... She's kitted herself out with all a girl could need (except maybe a nice blouse*) and doesn't know what to do with the rest of it!

*Spot the subtle hint, Mauuk ;)

Martinus
14th February 2005, 23:32
Mauuk could make her a blue, red, white or brown shirts with his current knowledge. ;)

Anyway, does this guy look like a friendly tailor to you? :p

>and doesn't know what to do with the rest of it!

Oh my... I very much doubt that Uzglug could ever get enough leather. He's repetedly been trying to skin creatures like troggs and kolkars but for some reason it doesn't seem to pay off.

I have started over from the beginning and Treglobh is now a warrior instead. I will join up with the rest of the guild in two days time. I will probably go for mining/engineering as my profession. So you can see me more like a crazy warrior/bombspecialist with a dream of building the ultimate warmachine in the future.

I'm starting to write on a background story for my char today at work ;-)

Some questions. How do i join the guild. Do i need to be close to a recruiter? When I choose /w to talk to someone, how close must he be? Is there someway I can contact you ingame without being at the same place?

Contact Lazhag who is the guild leader (just add him to your friends list, and you will get a message when he is online) :)

I am not sure how the recruiting is handled exactly, since I'm only a grunt :/

Branko
15th February 2005, 12:11
Both Lazhag and my character Uzglug can recruit for the clan. I'm not sure if there's someone else that can do it as well.

Anyway we don't need to be close or anything, just whisper anyone of us when we are online and we'll take care of it.

Bronson
15th February 2005, 12:25
Thanks alot. I'll do that tonight when i'm online again.

WaThumb
15th February 2005, 13:09
Ug agh Welcome,

currently we have 5 people able to recruit. Me (Lazhag), Bagurz, Uzglug, Tragash and Throksharr. You can use /w <name> from everywhere in the world to send a message to them.

Lazhag

"Friendly tailor" no, but he does have the crazed expression you'd expect to find on a Lagerfeld, a Versace or a Gautier! :P

Are we going to get a tabard for the clan later? Is it 10g to create one? I can probably help with 2g soon.

Branko
21st February 2005, 13:59
I could help with one or two gold as well. I'm a bit uncertain about how it will look though. I mean, Uzglug don't look all that much the way I'd like a shaman to look anyway, and a tabard will hardly improve on that. If we do get one I'll most likely only use it once or twice on very special occations.

Bronson
21st February 2005, 14:45
True, true... Maybe tabards is a humie thing. Not for us orcs. They look a bit knighty if i say so.

Solmyr
21st February 2005, 15:18
Indeed. Ideally, we should be wearing severed heads (preferably elf) as necklaces. }(
