Well today Mark reaching the glorifying heights of 150 in both Enchanting and Alchemy. At only level 17, cant learn more til Level 20. But the cost oh the cost. Cant even buy the rest of the recipes til i get 1 gold, and i didnt buy my level 16 spells either. ( Dratten elves dont have a mage trainer, unless hidden somewhere dark and deep, they dont)
Luckily i can send coinage his way, i send linen up wards and coinage comes down.
My next favorite class after priest has to be Mage. But it will at higher levels that will see if they are good. Especially in instances.

I think instances will be where i will make the money.

Saving up 90 gold for an horse almost drove me insane, the first 50 gold was ok, but then i lost all hope, but then suddenly i had my 90 gold, and the reward was sweet.

I make my money by skinning, i sell 10 thick leather for 90 - 1.20 gold.

You should try to sell Enchants to people.

Alchemy/Echanting is probably the most cost-ineffective combo I can think of, unless you have someone else to finance you. ;)

I am making great money as skinner/tailor (especially as leather is easy to get and easy to sell) and as a warlock will get a mount for free. Life is good. ;-)

I have tailoring at about 165 and enchanting at 140ish

Now I'm lucky with friends providing cloth and green items (in exchange for free enchantments and bags). Green items I get most by and making my own through tailoring and also providing green drops and created green items from leatherworking on my alt.

Thus other than training expense Enchanting has been not too expensive, and I have made several gold from enchanting random peoples stuff in IF and SW. I have yet to sell a green item to an NPC. So income is reduced compared to those selling loot of course. Selling the enchantments does make up for this a bit. Glows sell the best, it's sad but true.

Also I've started selling low end enchantment reagents on the auction house for a tidy sum.

I think Alchemy/Enchantment has to be one hell of a difficult combination though. Good luck.
