and I'm beginning to think that hunters can't learn how to wield a one-handed mace. Can someone here affirm that?

Ask the guards for the direction to the weaponmaster (in the main
towns), the weaponmasters will tell you were to find more of their
kind around the world, but I guess its in the main cities.

Different weaponmasters learn out different things so visit them all.
Thats the only way I know of learning skills....
