View Full Version : No More Players for World of Warcraft?

If you do not already have a subscription to World of Warcraft, it might be a while until you are able to get one. To say the least, the “test run” they mentioned in their January 10th press release has not been going so well.

Maybe the game is just to popular! I dont think the rate will go down when the game hit the shelfs in Europe tbh :7

Kind of yesterday's news. When I first heard it last week apparently Blizzard itself and two major companies didn't sell any copies anymore. However if one monitors the US servers it's obvious that some are extremely crowded while others' populations still rank as low. I'd assume the latter ones are not those where people face waiting queues with 500+ players. I do also doubt that anyone in the US having purchased a game will have any problems to subscribe. From my rather rumourous knowledge of american jurisdiction such should cause a real lot of problems for Blizzard.

By the way ... is there a free month of playing included? That would mean Blizzard EU wouldn't be able to determine a precise number of subscribers (and servers) for 6-8 weeks after release. And we might always end up with a situation where latecomers won't be able to create characters on our favoured servers. What are our criteria for the choice of recommended servers (one for horde, one for alliance)?

How about we choose one PvP server for alliance initially. Then once things have settled down abit choose a server for horde when they start adding new servers as the first ones are full. This server will hopefully not be packed when latecomers get their copies.

Horde/Alliance are interchangable as far as I'm concerned, but I know the elf is pesky and will play an elf regardless.

Guess we somehow need to decide on two servers then since I had the impression some people intended to start with The Horde. However I am still planning to raise a dwarf since I feel the pesky elf will need some serious support in Ashenvale. That is in case he mentally survives the newbie hell of Darkshore ... ;)

Lo :)

Still lurking in the corner and I'd like to play with your guys again, whatever side you choose. Sometimes Horde sounds good as I understand they're a bit of an underdog in U.S. servers (in current EU beta as well?), but then again: Perhaps had enough gankings in UO for a lifetime ;)

Thought I applied for eu beta a while back, but no mail, so I'll see what it's like at release. I do hope lower levels can team up with higher levels as I really felt a need to grind my ass off in EQ2 beta to keep up which ended up in me doing less RP'ing. Bloody xp is like a drug.

Perhaps I should pre-order so I'm not one of the 'latecomers' ;)

Fuud?

Arf! I just hope its nothing like the EQ2 newbie hell! i got lost in that newbie/starter town :( Though i had to put all my graphics to low because of the graphic lag and the connection to the beta servers wasnt very nice :D Luckly i left it and went back to UO }(

I probably go with official Role-play server, best server to find like minded people maybe. Once the game is out however, not speaking of beta.
