I dont think i have ever seen so many rude and ignorant posts on the same forum ever .
I cross my fingers that there will be less trolls and flamers on the EU forum when it hit retail .
They are realy doing a great job scaring people away and tainting a great game with silly statments.
I feel for the guys working all nighters and have to put up with that kind of crap...

I feel that an increasing number of online players consumes the games like a live concert, a movie or dinner at a restaurant. Either noticing the specific requirements of persistent worlds (i.e. the lack of quick save ... *snickers*), constant contest with human players (who always do better) or maybe that they simply don't like it lead to frustration. Even more when one realizes already to have subscribed for several months in advance. Forums are a quick and efficient way to express that frustration. Well, any frustration.
My worst experience during the beta was being stuck in an aetherial void for no less than eight real time hours. During two of those all (!) servers were down and it was exactly then that I received an email from GM Ikili not the least regarding the facts I had transmitted and also telling me that it was impossible to help me while I was offline! Even better: Two days after the beta ended I received another email which started like this:
"Hello,
In preparation for the retail launch of World of Warcraft, the North American open beta servers have been taken offline.
As a result, testers are no longer able to log into the game servers or play the game itself. Unfortunately, this means we may not be able to effectively troubleshoot this technical issue further with you. (...)"
Honestly, how would you (or you ... or you over there) react to such gentle ... err, incompetence if during the recent years you hadn't reached a certain level of experience and patience as far as online games are concerned?
To cut a long story short: I think there is a reason for boards like this ... *winks*.
Karma (aka Kailash aka Krass aka Aloka)
P.S.: Had another experience with GM Vashik which I enjoyed a lot.

Of course and i did not say that i thought that forums where bad as a concept , Frankly i dont realy know where you get this , If you read my post again you can clearly see that i am giving critisism towards the people that think that insulting other people and not only blizzard staff is something of a normal civil behavior .
It pisses me of when people hides behind there computer and acts like jerks towards the fellow gamer .
And im sorry to hear that you did not recive any help with that problem you had , What i would like to see is constructive critisism to blizzard insted of the hundreds of posts "OMFG BLIZZARD JOZ SUXXORS" that are all over the place.....

*Chuckles* ... I did in no way assume you would think of forums as a bad concept. I tried to point out that in my point of view the contemporary average online player rather behaves as a customer than as an explorer. Customers complain and express their frustration, maybe even flame or whine a little when other customers drop in and either join or insult their fellow customers. There is no logic in that chaos and it sometimes reminds me of panicking crowds ... *winks*. However I think the very task those companies have to master is to improve communication and create a constructive atmosphere instead of behaving like anonymous clerks in your local supermarket. There is always a cause and in this case it starts with companies promising a perfect product and efficient service. Which as we all know is kind of impossible right after launch and with half a million players.
Personally it made me feel a little like "Everything is running fine. The only problem left are the customers." when that GM Ikili told me via email to try to recall with the hearthstone after I had explained in detail (by ticket and email) that exactly that was not possible. On another rare occasion I was a paying customer (sic!) in SWG when due to a bug my trandoshan was stuck in a public house. I solved the problem by asking a friend to kill me (he wouldn't have been able to enter if the house had been locked) so that I would respawn elsewhere. In game support responded two or three days later! It was then that for the first time I used a phrase I did hate until that: OSI sux!
Peace and irony, Karma

I agree , But what i was pointing out was not people who had legit resons to be upset but more the peoples that flame and insult just because it seems they have nothing better to do *shurgs* and lets face it creating a thread named blizzard you suck after just one day of retail is a bit over the top , My personal experience tells me most mmo's do have some child sickness and if problems should continue the best thing you can do to show the company your frustration is to simply stop paying untill it gets better .
Now i understand blizzard did not charge for the first month because the server issues and that i think shows that they do care about there customer and i still have full faith in the blizzard crew
